This geological phenomenon has resulted in a stunning landscape that appears as two enormous pit craters. Situated in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island, the Twin Craters are surrounded by lush green forests dominated by the endemic Scalesia plants. Visitors can walk along the crater rims to gain a better perspective of their size and appreciate the local flora and fauna. This site is also one of the prime locations to spot the Galapagos’ endemic short-eared owl.
